Demetrios Markouizos, M.D., F.A.A.P., is Board-Certified in Pediatrics and Obesity Medicine and is named 'Top Doctor of Astoria' by Castle Connolly Medical Ltd. He is licensed in the state of New York and has served the Queens community (with patients from the tri-state area and abroad) for over twenty-eight years.
Dr. Markouizos is an Attending Pediatrician at: North Shore University Hospital, Long Island Jewish Medical Center, NYP/Weill-Cornell Medical Center. He is a Clinical Assistant Professor at NYP/Weill-Cornell Medical Center and was a past Director of Pediatric Advanced Life Support at Methodist Hospital. Additionally, he holds certifications in the instruction of Pediatric Advanced Life Support (A.L.S.) and Neonatal Resuscitation Advanced Life Support (A.C.L.S.).
Dr. Markouizos received his M.D. from Aristotelian University and was a Junior, Senior and Chief Resident at The Methodist Hospital. He completed a post graduate fellowship in Medical Genetics at SUNY Health Science Center.
His numerous abstracts appear in industry renowned publications including Pediatric Research, American Journal of Human Genetics, and Molecular Biology of Medicine.
Dr. Markouizos specializations include: asthma, childhood obesity, gastroesophageal reflux and cardiopulmonary resuscitation. He is fluent in Greek, English, and has a proficiency in conversational Spanish and French.

Brian Chung, D.O., joined PHCQ in 2010. Aside from his licensure as a Doctor of Osteopathy, Dr. Chung holds a Ph.D. in Pharmacology. He performed his residency at Nassau University Medical Center and was a Staff Pharmacist at Long Island Jewish Medical Center (presently North Shore/LIJ Health Systems).
Dr. Brian Chung is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics. His hospital affiliations include: North Shore Manhasset, Long Island Jewish Medical Center, New York Hospital of Queens, and NYP/Weill-Cornell Medical Center.

Dr. Jennifer Yaxi Chen, a board-certified pediatrician, joined Pediatric Healthcare of Queens with strong and impressive credentials.
Dr. Chen’s background includes tenures at Cohen Children’s Medical Center, where she completed a three-year residency program managing the medical concerns of diverse pediatric patient groups possessing a myriad of pathologies, including acute asthma exacerbation.
Prior to Cohen, Dr. Chen served in the Pediatric Pulmonology Department of Westchester Medical Center as a Research Fellow, concentrating specifically in cystic fibrosis and extending that knowledge to all manifestations of pediatric pulmonology.
At the University of Michigan Neurology Department, Dr. Chen conducted research on CADASIL, an inherited form of stroke. Additionally, Dr. Chen has presented at the Pediatric Academic Society (PAS) regarding pediatric asthma and Skin & Soft Tissue Infection (SSTI). Her volunteer work includes La Casita De Salud, serving uninsured and underserved patients of East Harlem and, Alpha Phi Omega Service Fraternity at the University of Michigan in conjunction with local hospitals, homeless shelters and service programs.
Dr. Chen is the recipient of a NYMC Scholarship Grant.
Dr. Chen received her B.S. (Neuroscience) from the University of Michigan and her M.D. from New York Medical College.
